Donations,
Memorials, Acknowledgements
NABIS regularly
informs people that, as a federally registered charitable
organization, any donated cash/cheques or goods received are
issued charitable tax receipts*. We do this through our brochure,
when people become members, and through the quarterly NABIS
News. Donations are very welcome. Every month roughly two
thousand dollars of support is received, through the daily
mail or as VISA, MasterCard and American Express contributions
over the phone.
*Unfortunately, federal regulations governing
charitable receipting do not allow NABIS to issue receipts
for donations of service to the organization.
Sometimes support is received at NABIS in memorial recognition
of a loved one, or increasingly, to celebrate an occasion
– anniversary, wedding, or as a birthday or Christmas
gift. Special memorial envelopes are available by calling
Mary Pfeffer at 479-1757. Many funeral homes in Edmonton already
carry NABIS’ envelopes.
From April 1, 2004 – March 31, 2005 nearly $24,000
was received in the form of donations and memorial acknowledgements.
In 2004, Donations were contributed in memory of
the following individuals:
Rene Breton, Millie Bittner, Richard Bowie, Nettie Briggs,
Ronald Chambers, Keith Evans, Beverley Heggerud, Vera Johnson,
Joel David Legiehn, Susan Konski, Katherine Lopushinsky, Margaret
McQuity-Wilson, Phyllis Paulson, Greg Skitsko, Mar Walker,
and Robert Wilson.
